The idea for Vogue Clicquot came to me one night as I was falling asleep. In fact, I have an entire notes section on my phone with the random concepts that keep me awake... some hits, some major misses haha.

I'm not sure what exactly sparked this stylish pun-- my adoration of Vogue, my fascination with Anna Wintour, my penchant for champagne... the graphic combines whimsy with sophistication, a balance I always seek.

To contrast the luxurious subjects (both Wintour and the Veuve), I drew everything in a very scratchy, simple way. A gemstone color palette creates classiness, but its saturation serves spunk. Lastly, Anna's smirk and the champagne's sparkles add movement to a stiff silhouette. I purposefully aimed for this stylistic juxtaposition because of its comedic effects.
